Menning Family
This last Sunday the Menning family wanted some family portraits taken. Kara wanted to take some pictures outside of the public library in downtown Salt Lake City. So after we went to church we scouted out the area to try and find some great spots for their family.
At 4pm later that day we met up with the Mennings at the library. I knew we would not have long as her 3 year old daughter was the youngest of the 3 kids. We ended up only being out their taking photos for about 20-30 mins

Infant Portrait Photography
Baby Shiloh,
Scott and Julie called up Michael Kanzler for an infant photo session. Michael is a good friend of mine and has encouraged me to pursue photographry and many other art endeavors. This is not the first time of either Michael or my self taking photos of infants… We have easily taken hundreds of photographs of infants. This was one of my first out of studio experiences though so it was good for me to be the second shooter… I learned a lot.

Sunsets...
So today, I was so excited because the sun was playing peekaboo with the clouds. And MAN was it stunning. So I finally got home and grabbed the camera to take a few pictures... I really was not getting what I was seeing. So I changed my viewpoint and looked to the east and saw the clouds were dancing around the pink and blue mountains. I thought that it would be sweet if I went up into the mountains to get a better vantage point. So I hopped in the car with my wife and started driving... All I saw was beauty but big power lines and houses drowned it out... I was so frustrated... I turned around and started heading home... Then I saw this...
I quickly pulled over on the shoulder and took this picture... We had only been gone from home for a few minutes... and as we started to turn down a street close to our house it was like a brick wall of fog had just rolled in... It was bad! I of course thought it would be wise to pull over and take this quick picture of the fog... And don't worry, we made it home safely!
Soft Box... and a piano
So for Christmas my wonderful wife got me a soft box for my camera flash... and well I have not used it until the other night when I had a few seconds before friends came over for dinner. I took some more pictures of our piano. Hope you like what you see... I played with the focus of the two different photographs...

Dining room chair
So this morning on the way out the door to church I saw our chair with the shadows of our blinds on it. So I had to take a picture. The first one I took was too dark so I played around with it. I just could not get the look I saw with my eyes. So I pulled out my flash and this is what I came up with. This best represents what I saw this morning!

Monday's Sunset
Monday on the way home from running to Winco, a local grocery store, I looked up into the sky and thought it might just be one of those days to capture the sunset. As I am driving home I see what looks like one of the best sunsets in a while. The sky was literally dancing with all types of different colors.
